How this calculator works
How this calculator works
This calculator works in amp hours (Ah), which is a simple way to measure how much power your battery can store and how much power your appliances use each day.
If something draws 2 amps and you use it for 5 hours, it will use 10Ah in a day.
Formula: amps × hours = amp hours
This calculator adds up the daily usage of all your selected devices, then subtracts any charging input from solar and driving. It compares that result against your usable battery capacity to estimate how long you can stay off-grid.
It is designed to give a practical real-world estimate, but actual results will still vary with weather, season, fridge cycling, battery condition and charging losses.
Battery & Travel Setup
Choose the battery size and how you’ll be camping. Travel mode includes charging from the car. Stationary mode assumes you’re parked up and relying on battery and solar only.
Solar Setup
Calculate your solar power input and see how much charging your setup can add across the day.
Daily Power Usage
Adjust how many hours per day each item will run. The calculator totals your daily amp-hour usage, subtracts charging input, then estimates how many days you can stay off-grid.
